How many times have you set your goals only to find you get to the end of the day, you have no time left and you still have to cook dinner, wash up, bath the kids, change the sheets or put the washing away, do your own work, walk the dog and you're exhausted?

Do you need to review your goals?

What steps towards achieving your goals have you not been able to take today?

Have a little review.

If you haven’t been able to achieve all the steps today, don’t fret, let it go, tomorrow is a new day. But – (I don’t use that word much!) reflect and reboot One of the methods I use to re-motivate myself is the review!

Review your goals and the steps it will take to achieve them.

First: visualise your goal.

Grab that goal in your mind, get your fists around that goal and hold tight with your eyes closed, breathe that goal in.

Feel what you will feel when you know you have achieved your goal, who is standing with you and how are they looking at you? Where are you? What is the place, room, field, beach like? Are you on your own with just someone you love or is there an audience? What are you wearing? How do you feel emotionally?

Really feel these things, believe you’ve already got to your goal. Hold onto that feeling.

Second: Now trace backwards from that goal to right now.

What steps do you need to take and how often in order to achieve that goal?

Is this a SMART goal? Do you need to review its specifics, measurements, is it achieveable and realistic or do you need to give yourself more time to get there?

So, you’ve achieved your goal, and you know now what steps you need to take to get there, how long it’s going to take.

Third: Take the stress and pressure off by knowing you can achieve this goal by keeping it real, reflecting, taking the steps towards achieving it and reviewing things regularly.


By doing this exerccise you’re well on your way to rebooting yourself in the morning.
